I totally believe this, but I don’t think it’s a good excuse. A stupid person can recite things that were told to them earlier. And that’s just as bad, national security-wise.

I’ve never been able to figure it out. They call it a “sequel,” but it sort of seems like it’s just a series of ads for Red Nose Day, whatever that is.
It’s the worst week until the next one starts.
Thank you. Somebody says “X is a distraction from Y” and then you turn around and someone else says “Y is a distraction from X.” I remember (oh, like three weeks ago?) when people were saying that the Russia stuff is a distraction from policy, and now are saying other stuff is a distraction from Russia.
I saw it as glamorizing suicide for a few reasons. One, it shows a way that suicide can be an outlet for getting back at people who hurt you. Being able to say the things you could never say if you were alive. Two, the whole concept of making and sending tapes and then killing yourself was clearly interesting enough…
I definitely saw it as “suicide as revenge.” Not necessarily that Hannah was doing it for the purpose of revenge, but she definitely wanted those specific people to feel guilty over it.
I wonder whether the trigger warnings are that helpful for the group of teens that people are most concerned about, I assume, ones who are depressed and possibly suicidal. I think a lot of kids who feel that way seek that stuff out versus maybe an adult who actively understands what they need or don’t need to stay in…
It’s not like there are staff members that attend frat parties or these initiation events. Sure, there are organized events that involve the university, but all the situations that involve frat kids dying take place privately.
No, the organizational restraint doesn’t help. It’s the exact reason why these groups fail to call 911 when someone is in trouble, because they might get in trouble with the university. No one’s saying that students wouldn’t ever be in harmful situations or drink too much, but clearly in this case, peer pressure and…
I hope that if I got pregnant with my IUD, my doctor would try a little harder to find it. It’s supposed to be super dangerous to have a pregnancy with an IUD in there.
Eek. Maybe I should retract my comment about not liking the movie.
I have always thought this was one of the worst movies ever.
I love how everyone feels so confident ripping to shreds a candidate who won more votes that almost every presidential candidate in history. If only we had run the guy whose chances were doomed like five states into the primaries!
As somebody from the South with white women as relatives, duh. My female relatives would probably give up their right to vote if it meant taking away someone else’s rights.
Unlike every other politician.
If there were people who were so much better candidates, then where were they? And people who couldn’t beat Hillary in a primary don’t count.
I like to think I’m realistic enough that I realize any candidate could lose. The poll numbers during the primaries of her vs. Trump scared me, but I thought common sense would prevail.
This is how it’s set up every single year. Everything he said seemed pretty earnest to me. And honestly, this is the first year in a while where the crowd was actually laughing instead of scowling and looking uncomfortable.
I’ve seen it all over the place. And considering most years I don’t know the dinner is happening until the next day, seems about the same. Maybe depends on where one looks?
The comments here were just as oblivious as I expected. Look, WOC don’t have many brands that actually try to make products for them. Most of the mainstream hair and cosmetics brands started out only paying attention to white women’s hair and skin, and then slowly started to throw a bone to WOC. But then they have…
