...Whedon wasn’t allowed to be alone in a room with Michelle Trachtenberg, a teenage girl. He certainly doesn’t sound like a good person.

Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey was a character. She had opinions and motivations and the film spins out from her antics. Diana in WW84 was a very pretty cipher. Does she have opinions about the Cold War she’s living through? Why is she trying so hard to stay hidden besides continuity? Is humanity still a big…
She got hosed the way J.K. Rowling did. All she had to do to keep her job was keep her mouth shut. People asked her to stop and she just kept doubling and tripling down. I guess she decided that what she had to say was more important than being employed. Colin Kaepernick knew he would be cut for kneeling for the…
When I binged it several years ago on Netflix, I couldn’t believe that Whedon would torpedo the show like that and it seemed like he was particularly spiting Cordelia? And then I read about the behind-the-scenes rumors, and it clicked. It was a retaliatory character assassination because Carpenter had gotten pregnant.…
They were all adrenaline junkies trapped in a bad cycle.
Cordelia’s entire storyline in season 4 was retaliatory.
The first time I watched Angel s4, I felt something was off. Whedon’s rage is palpable in the writing. You’ll see what I mean when you get there. And then I saw Charisma Carpenter at a convention and she basically confirmed what I had suspected from watching the show. Whedon was mad at her for getting pregnant and…
Carpenter has disclosed some of this at conventions before, which I thought was very brave. At Awesomecon 2018 or 2019, I can’t remember which year I saw her now, she was pretty candid about the fact that she was still livid that Whedon wrecked Cordy’s character and killed her off all because he was mad at Carpenter…
Nah, not really.
Aristotelian virtue ethics are a cornerstone of American Republicanism, but that’s all I can think of.
Y’all needed context? I heard the premise “Wanda and Vision in a sitcom,” and my mind immediately leapt to Wanda is using her reality-bending magic to create a world where Wanda and Vision can be happy. Maybe there’s a secret villain behind this that’s not Wanda. Maybe there’s not. But I don’t feel starved for an…
Was it a hoverboard?
They only have a two-hour block six nights a week for original content. And they’ve had to do funky scheduling for the past couple years because they had more than twelve shows on air.
hell yeah
No one banned Parler.
I was not expecting to see Danish Pom Poko today.
Alex Rider gets cooler toys.
I mean, you get annoyed and then figure out a way to write in the pregnancy or you hide it. You don’t write season 4 of Angel.
What he did to Charisma Carpenter was gross. She says she’s forgiven him and would be willing to work with him again. But character-assassinating a fan-favorite and writing them off the show because the actress got pregnant and needed accommodations would be illegal in most industries.
As far as I know, she hasn’t said anything transphobic on the record.
