My area of expertise is not economics, so I don’t know that I should make recommendations. I’m just synthesizing what I have read over the years.

That being said, the ratio of wage to cost-of-living in a region would probably be a better indicator of how the working class is doing there. The percentage of jobs being

*Finding qualified workers willing to work at the offered wage

A lot of companies used guest workers to fill those roles when they couldn’t entice American workers, but the crackdown on visas is making it difficult. In urban areas, there is not a lack of qualified workers. There is a lack of people willing to work that

Somebody further down in the thread called it a lampoon, and I feel that’s a better description than satire.

See? I knew somebody would have a good answer on here. Genuinely thank you for typing all of that out and sharing it. I’m pulling you out of the greys.

Democrats haven’t been proven wrong, and Republicans haven’t been proven right. Both parties are using out-of-date metrics to determine how the economy is doing. None of the data the government collects looks at the quality of jobs. Unemployment numbers are nonsensical when the jobs everyone has are crappy part-time

Lampooning is a much better descriptor for what I just watched.

Poorly done, in my opinion, but he’s satirizing the type of snobby liberal pundits that sound like they’ve never even ventured outside of a city before.

Make the platform partially liable for Jones’ defamation and libel. If the courts went for it, that would be a major legal precedent. It would certainly remake the social media landscape. For better or for worse, I’m not sure.

That guy got redeemed over the course of two seasons.

I still want a cross-over where Delores runs into Shaw from Person of Interest.

You joke, but I could see that actually happening.

Most adults understand that language is contextual.

“Words in and of themselves have meaning, the color of your skin doesn’t change the meaning.”

That is simply untrue.

It’s definitely a national security concern. But again that’s not really new. Trump regularly takes calls on his unsecured cell phone, has executive meetings at Mar-a-lago, freaking reviews classified documents in the clubhouse there. And that’s just the stuff we know about. There are also people in the administration

I’m really very weirded out by the fact that I recognized most of the people in the trailer.

So to be totally pedantic for a moment, isn’t “morally justified egoism” redundant since egoism is a moral philosophy?

I’ve seen her in John Wick 2, OitNB, and Dark Matter. I haven’t liked a performance yet.

I have seen a lot of people espousing the attitude, “As if CW ever casts any good actors.” And my response has been, “Huh? Casting is the one thing the CW does consistently well. The Arrowverse falls apart because of the terrible writing, not the acting.”

Satire? Satire.

That reminds me of “Grave of the Fireflies,” which is pretty darn bleak. Let’s watch two children starve to death for an hour and a half. And no, I didn’t spoil anything. The kids die at the beginning and the rest is just a flashback.

Depends on what you’re using the audiobook for. I’d listen to a Jordan Peterson audiobook as a sleep-aid.
