Also, too: Roy Ayers, Gil Scott-Heron, Isaac Hayes, George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Bobbi Humphrey…Stevie, Marvin and Bill Withers are the best though…

But I'm talking about Shaft…and, yes, the man…
Welp, “if you haven't heard it, it's new to you.”
That's true, but the new one sounds like a bunch of throwaways from Voodoo, or perhaps trying to maintain that same sound, but with even less focus. I do hope that I'll eat my words later, but time didn't work with me with Badu post Mama's Gun…
Yes. Loved that one…blackSUMMERSnight will be released 14 years later apparently (it was supposed to be a triptych)…the latest Jean Grae is actually "devastatingly great." I also liked Raheem Devaughn's first two albums…http://jeangrae.bandcamp.com/
I'll be contrarian because truthfully, I've loved all D'Angelo's albums…
Voodoo is arguably the best soul album of this century (and so is
Mama's Gun)…Black Messiah however—much like Badu after Mama's
Gun—regresses to the loose, Funkadelic style of soul that is rambling
and unfocused. Prince suffered from dabbling in…
I hear they're releasing a double album with Dre/Cube's "Helter Skelter". I love DOOM, but he appears to be done. He's sampled all the 80's tracks fit to sample so he just writes lyrics over other peoples shitty beats (everyone after Madvillainy and DangerDOOM that is)….I no longer look forward to DOOM projects.
Indeed. 12 Reasons was bad because Ghost got the C team (U-God, Masta Killa, Cappadonna & Killa Sin) so he phoned it in there. That and the corny narrative—haunted vinyl, boooooooo (urns).
I've been a Ghost fan from Enter the Wu, but 12 Reasons bored me to annoyance. 36 Seasons however is a solid album. It's not a traditional Ghost solo album though. I enjoyed the guests, especially NEMS, who is criminally slept on (see fuck ya lyfe mix tape). I'd rate it a B.
My top five rappity raps are significantly different:
None Shall Pass was excellent—there's no improving on it. The Portishead x Aesop Rock was incredible: http://jkingz.bandcamp.com/…
The Prince version is great, but a weak Prince impression—however, I did flip out just after the 2:00 mark—nailed it…
Most certainly—somehow all three of my e-mail accounts receive their newsletter.
From one of 2014's best hip-hop albums Mike Mictlan (Doomtree) references one of my favorite movies on his track "Super Merica"

FYI - This is not the thread for the U2 tops the Rolling Stone 2014 best album list.
I agree. Bossanova by a hair over Doolittle.
Bread & butter is the Obamacare of the pickles.
We could really use some crazies, too—we're far outnumbered on that front.
They're bringing back Da Butt. eaayee aayee, eaayeee aayee aayee yeah!

Stevie's "Superwoman" should be the best winter song without winter in the title—the second half causes pee shivers and onion eyes…my "Fall" pick for cruising is Doppelgangaz "Fall Thru" https://www.youtube.com/wat…
