All other issues aside, I just like to nitpick Dave because he's an ass. How many employees did he have working for him? How often did he bring in the big trucks? And no one else could handle a storefront that would do booming business from the mere association with the man?

People do crazy things to get out of Buffalo in the winter.

As a non-fan living in Bills territory, I sort of enjoy this. There's the delightful "we're winning it all" after the first win with a new coach, followed by the "fire that bum!" after the first loss.

I have a relative that's basically skin, bones and cellulite. No muscle tone whatsoever, but she's got a small build, so all she does is mock the fatties and look down on people for not being thin like her. She can't walk a block without needing a rest, but she can wear a size 0 and apparently that's the best thing

I'd agree with this. It's not a big deal to me, but I prefer "childfree" because that's a choice we made.

this comment deserves a place of honor.

I'm ready to go now if it means not having to listen to people coo about their kids.

Nah, even then she'll have slept her way into it or somesuch.

I think I heard a few weeks back that Rex Grossman is a III. I'd say your point would be proven, but he's not much of a QB for comparison.

She told me all those ice cream containers were from the dog...how embarrassing to be fooled.

No, the basic premise of making an argument based on scientific fact is to use scientific facts in the argument. Either one is interested in what is said and wants more detail or one plays the strawman card and exclaims "no APA footnotes!" as if to say it can't possibly be true.

Yes, because Jez is a scientific journal.

I think we need to create a movement that champions this. Or people with more follow through than me need to, anyway. I'm going to get a cookie.

I'm the exact opposite. When I drank, I'd do it to excess without really realizing it. I don't know why....my parents never drank around me, despite alcoholism being present in the family, but when i started drinking i didn't stop.

Smart. My family breeds two types of people: the alcoholics and the insane from living with the alcoholics. I'm finding my time in the second category more fun than the first, because I hated throwing up so much.

Yeah, you seem very rational and knowledgeable. I think paleo just has a bad rap from too many of the people who are into fad diets jumping on. They once preached at us for not drinking cabbage soup and now they crow at us for not doing what they do. It's just the current haven for that loud crowd of

Thanks for the clarification. I'm overly touchy on the subject, perhaps.

Best of luck to you. I think you're on a better path (wow, that sounds pretentious) but liking yourself and finding what works for you have always seemed more likely to get results.

We decided to call it a "fad" because it's fun to make the oh-so-serious members of your paleo crowd burst flames from their heads.

Thanks for this. I come from a family of big people. When I was running four or five miles a day and eating right, I still had a doughy middle. My sister has been on a 1200 calorie, exercise intensive lifestyle for years and looks just the same as when she started, which is soft in the middle and bulky all over.
