Oh, I was being silly and complaining about the white text in the sample screen. :P

Geeze, TAG YOUR PORN.
Ugh. That fantastic vibrant photograph, and you put this ugly white noise over it that’s impossible to read? Who designed this? [/rant] (the laptop itself is really pretty)
I’ve lived in a house with one of these supposed wall-bouncing soundbars, in several configurations. Ours was a Sony, and I can’t really tell if there’s a quality difference (I assume Sony’s quality should have been really quite decent) but all I ever heard in surround configurations was a muddy mess.
It changes the pixels on the display in a set of very specific color patterns. Some people pay a lot of money to get their displays to show certain arrangements of colors. Some other people get angry when this happens, and try to sue those people for copying their colors.
I feel like this is more consistent, though you’re making me want to go through the movies again and look for anything that can deflect a lightsaber. They can cut through most regular materials simply due to extreme temperatures, but would logically be stopped by an energy absorbing shield. Since this stormtrooper’s…
There are two risks really. Either (a) someone could guess your Google password, then steal your other passwords using the online viewer, or (b) someone could access your physical computer and read the passwords using the built in Settings page.
This goes without saying really, but if you’re going to use Chrome to save your passwords, take note of how easy it is to retrieve said passwords. Make sure to turn on two-factor authentication and take all the steps you can to make sure someone else can’t log into your Google account, because once they do you’ve…
Because *someone* has to point out this gigantic bulge, and I’m sort of disappointed that no one beat me to it.
Is that... Carpet?
The worst part about this is that GameStop probably *did* check the cart— in an original DS, which would have played the bootleg copy just fine. It’s only the 3DS which blocks the bootleg cartridges, and as this is not a 3DS game, most GameStop employees wouldn’t think to test it in the newer system as well. They’d…
I’ll point out that you’ll have *much* better success with the no receipt options if you paid something other than cash. At the Best Buy where I work, I can find your receipt by the card (or NFC payment) you used by simply swiping again at the register; it’ll perform a look up and grab any receipt that was on that…
Leia still has a resistance to run, and even with the *most ridiculous* of straight-line-through-the-universe treasure maps, she had at best a strong hunch that Luke would be there. For all we know, Luke will return with Rey and go to see Leia in the second movie; that would make just as much sense, and give lots of…
BestBuy will either process it as a return based on the sale value (in which case you can often re-purchase the same item at a lower rate if it’s devalued since then) or they’ll do a “Comparable SKU” exchange, which is usually an even dollar amount price match for similar technology. The customer service reps are…
That was cute for around 75%, and then became HIGHLY DISTURBING.
I feel like the fund is more to cover the costs of the medical expenses *right now* when he needs them, versus in 7 years when the case against the driver finally closes and he finally gets whatever payout he’s going to get from the legal case.
To be fair, I think a lot of people never made it out of Midgar. That’s a *long* intro to a long game; very traditional for Final Fantasy, and very easy to become bored in if it’s your first time trying to see what this newfangled JRPG thing is all about. Like most other early games in the series, FFVII unfolds very…
I know a lot of people who prefer the regular consoles because they’re usually easier to set up. There’s something to be said for the ability to sit down in front of the couch, turn on the console, and just play, without having to do any setup or configuration. That’s worth it to a lot of folks, and I respect that…
My 560ti can handle Dolphin just fine. Dolphin requires a lot of shader feature support from the card, but isn’t too heavy on actual usage. It’s mostly CPU bound, spending much of its time formatting the display lists (CPU-side) for the PC GPU to use, and working on the relatively fast main program via PowerPC…
I really don’t see how this is going to impact sales. That’s a *powerful* beast of a machine, and it’s managing maybe 50% speed on MK8, with enough missing effects and implementation issues to make things difficult to enjoy.
