And yet games like Dark souls/bloodborne and now Sekiro are thriving. Other devs are starting to copy the formula themselves and have given us their own take on the series.

Unable to defeat the boss under what time frame is the information we’re missing. Yes people have been getting stuck on bosses for hours. It wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of people give up after 30 minutes though.
Why is every counter argument on here basically boil down to “You’re a child and your pride is tied to not allowing people to beat the same game as you”. Can some of you really not see beyond that?
Sigh the amount of times I’ve heard this statement. No it doesn’t hurt me in any way. My pride isn’t tied to gaming. I just feel its important for challenging games without compromise should exist. No that doesn’t mean every game has to be balls hard either.
Sekiro isn’t souls. I get the appeal of souls. The mystery of discovering whats going on as you explore its world. Sekiro literally tells you everything thats going on for the most part. Theres minimal lore to discover outside of a few things. Its not that the gameplay is great, its that it is absolutely the main…
We’ve entered an era where exclusion has become a bad word. I don’t see it that way. Exclusion for me lets me explore other possibilities. Its shaped my life in ways I never expected. Good and bad.
“Besides, one of the greatest things about games is the community, and having to overcome the same difficulty as everyone else is part of what makes the sekiroulsborne experiences as fulfilling as they are. And i know it wll b super easy to write me off as i say this, but I believe that providing an easy mode in a…
Frankly the person they used as an example probably would only benefit from an easy mode in that they’d have to retry bosses less or not at all. Even if you turned the game into a button masher the fundamental issues with their pain would still exist. The examples they listed like bayonetta and (i think) god of war…
And again if they do that I’m not going to protest. At the same time I don’t think its necessary.
Heres what I don’t understand about your argument. You’re saying that Sekiro would help the medium thrive and broaden access. Except video games as a whole is already doing this. More than ever we have games that on a gameplay level are more accessible to the general audience then ever. How exactly is Sekrio being…
The same tired argument that says nothing. How about instead of attacking me personally like some two bit psychiatrist you actually go after my argument?
I’m not going to protest an option being added in yet at the same time I don’t see a need for it. As for what the experience of what the game should be how about the director? The people who designed the game? Its clear that fast paced sword fights is what they were aiming for and they succeeded.
Starting off with a personal attack huh? Ok here we go I guess.
You mean the experience but out by the director? Yea how dare I chime in on that instead of demanding something completely different.
I have an appreciation for the challenge a video game can offer. Its unlike anything similar media can offer.
Nope it wouldn’t unless that took their time off balancing more game for the intended audience which it probably wouldn’t. At the same time why does every product need to be for everyone and why are the people demanding it not even those who appear to be affected by the issues they claim are present?
The stress of Sekiro is in the timings though. Failure and death in sekiro is largely irrelevant. In many instances you can just throw yourself at the bosses and retry as often as you want. Some require lesser enemy picking off here and there. Yes people get rot but its manageable due to items you can purchase and…
You’re comparing an optional hobby with tens of thousands alternatives to something that makes another person’s life easier and in some cases, possible for them to even physically get access into places.
Disagree. Sekiro’s world, characters and story are fine but the real experience is the gameplay. The excitement of exchanging blows with enemies almost like a choreographed dance. Making the game easier would just allow players to rush down bosses while disregarding their defense because damage becomes less of a…
