I noticed this when I was car shopping early this year. “Insane” is exactly the word I used to describe it. I’m in Iowa and we can get a lot of snow in the winter so the AWD helps explain some of it, but still.

I think it would be better if I could hold the button on the wheel to adjust the volume. Maybe it’s different in other cars.

Same, I made a pretty big leap this year from a car with a cassette deck to bluetooth/touch screen capability (coincidentally a Golf model) and almost never use the buttons on the wheel. I still prefer using the volume knob because when a great song comes on it’s a lot more satisfying to crank.. also I forget those…

I think just the sheer number on the road really took away from the cool factor. Even in the pickup truck haven that is Iowa I remember seeing these a lot.
