I think in theory employers generally take such expenses out of salary, and the price overall should go way down, so you should get, for example, a 9k raise to go with your 6k bill.

Basic income using printed money, then fight the inflation with a carbon tax and raising interest rates would work I think. Minimum wages are garbage but letting inflation shrink wages and impoverish everyone who isn’t getting government money isn’t inevitable(in theory).
Well, when you tax things you discourage them, and we raise most of our tax money from wage taxes. And whenever wages show any signs of rising the FED says wages cause inflation and whacks them back down with an interest rate hike.
Or drop their costs by eliminating driver pay entirely, which is the plan I think. Humans driving on the road for money may be phased out before too long, which is OK with me, those are hard and dangerous jobs, but if nothing replaces them a lot of people will be in trouble. Same is true of a lot of jobs, of course.
Or just institute a basic income and let them automate away.
