You appear to not understand the difference between your opinion and actual fact.  If you think one side is always right and the other is always wrong, you definitely lack the ability to think for yourself. 

For every person who talks about how is better to have a low interest mortgage and invest the money, almost none of them do it. There is no feeling (freedom) like being debt free.  Pay off your mortgage as fast as you can.  You will never want to go back into debt again.

In that case I still try to understand the liberal point of view.  Extremists aside, most people have a logical reason they came to their beliefs   If you can’t understand the reasoning, you can’t really understand your own view.  

When you make no attempt to understand other points of view, that’s all you are left with.

You made my point. Almost everyone in the country is “on the side against racists”.  It’s easy and fashionable now to call everyone you disagree with a racist.  It’s much harder to consider real facts and opposing views  

By “both sides” agreeing, do you really mean everyone should agree with you?  Few people make any attempt to understand other points of view anymore.
