Don’t know if they put that on the side of the boxes anymore. The one in my pantry didn’t have it on there, I pulled that image from the interwebs.

Without the corn, this is basically just Jiffy cornbread pancake recipe you can find on their site (it looks like they adjust the amount of milk used vs the recipe that used to be on the side of the box).

I’m not the author obviously, but it seems like you can omit them. If you’ll notice, Micheline’s notes include 2 choices for the corn kernels: include them in the batter, or sprinkle them on the still-setting pancake. When you see that kind of option, it means the ingredient can be omitted entirely.
