I didn’t understand this either, but my interpretation was that Shinkoda wasn’t saying it, but rather paraphrasing what Loeb said to justify Loeb’s decision not to develop the Asian characters’ storylines. Either way, it’s twisted logic based on bad assumptions, and I agree with you.

Of course Yoho declined to comment. Lucky for us, he’s retiring from Congress after this year. The Hill article quoted Yoho’s fellow Republican Rep. Roger Williams of Texas

In answer to South Park’s zen koan “What Would Brian Boitano Do?”, I took his Food Network coffee & donuts milkshake recipe and froze it all the way to ice cream in my freezer. No lie, it was delicious, and you can use any flavor cake donut you want. You’re welcome.

Hey, thank you for the shout-out, I did not expect that. I am here for your Philly-based food reporting.

My ancestors are northern Italian too and although I’ve seen Ramazzotti around, I had never heard of Rosato either. Where I live, Rosato is a specialty item that I’d have to order in advance, but at US$21, it’s within my price range.

Have you tried Fernet-Branca with cola as the Argentinians do? You might still hate it, but it will be sweeter and less medicinal.

Aimee, here’s my report FWIW: I visited Alma del Mar for Sunday brunch yesterday with a companion. They’ve turned an empty lot adjacent to the restaurant into an open-air dining patio, with tables spaced at least six feet apart, and I was able to bring my very good dog into the outdoor space.

This is located in the Italian Market which was and continues to be a center for Italian-American shops and restaurants, although it has diversified to include some Mexican businesses as well. You might know it as one of the streets Sylvester Stallone runs down during his “Gonna Fly Now” workout scene in Rocky.

But if any of our Philly readers happen to stop by, please let us know.

Throw the Hershey’s bar in the trash and use any other good chocolate, such as Ghirardelli. Hershey’s changed their formula years ago to save money and the result is a waxy brick that can barely be called chocolate, and any European will tell you it tastes terrible. Period. The end.

This man is not well. “Patti LaBelle is another Illuminati globalist puppet.”

When I see a new recipe, I usually ask myself if Picky Eater will eat it, and what I might have to change to make it palatable. Now I feel a little embarrassed for having asked before I thought this through. Thanks to you and the other commenters for confirming.

Look at you with your compromise solution that makes both parties happy!  I don’t know why I didn’t think of this.  Thank you.

I don’t usually buy the Jiffy brand of corn muffin mix, but the answer is right there on the box. Thank you for including a helpful photo.

I’m sorry to be that commenter on a recipe post, but I have a Very Important Question: I live with a picky eater who will eat corn-based foods like cornbread or cornflakes but not corn kernels. Can they be omitted from the recipe for textural reasons?  I am willing to make this as shown above, but then I’ll be eating

I don’t know how deeply you’ve already researched this, but if there is an Italian consulate in or near your city, you might want to contact them, or visit the Italian embassy website. My mother’s paternal grandparents emigrated to the US from Italy before World War I. The exact qualifications are complicated, based

I’m not negating any of your points, but did you mean photographer Annie Leibovitz? Because she’s a different person from the similarly-named Fran Lebowitz.

I think it’s rich that his own relatives in the Spanish royal family didn’t attend his wedding because they don’t recognize his claims to a non-existent French throne. Is he unaware that the French people he wants to reign over have rejected monarchy not once, but several times? The only throne he’ll be sitting on is

Thank you for this reply. I’m four generations removed from ancestors who left Ireland for presumably economic reasons, and I get the idea of leaving behind foods that carry memories of poverty or privation, or are just not very flavorful when there are so many other choices.

I’m making Dublin coddle in my slow cooker right now, with bangers and American bacon, because it’s what I could get hold of. Out of respect for my ancestors, I am completely at peace with the idea of “unseasoned peasant soup”. What is your preference for the broth? Dwyer just used the simmering water, but I’ve seen
