#13 - I actually liked the ‘*smaller scale’ story. So often sequels feel like they have to one-up the previous film so stakes get endlessly escalated into absurdity ... but how can you escalate the stakes from ‘Anti-christ heralding the end of the world’? You can’t, so they don’t. They tell a more personal story about

“Theaters are in death throes.”

weird take bro this article is explicitly about how theaters are doing fine rn. barbenheimer is an example of films adapting. for covid to have hastened anything, the trend downwards would have had to continue. instead theyre bouncing back.

Yeah Collex nailed it. Barbie didn’t want to be a couple, but Ken was defined by his relationship to Barbie.

How is fighting against AI dumb? It’s been obvious from the start that Big Tech and Hollywood wants to replace all human labor with AI, which very much gives the strike an incentive. The problem is that these sociopaths and psychopaths in power are trying to steal from everyone through any means necessary. It doesn’t

Asteroid City looks like the most Wes Anderson-iest Wes Anderson to ever Wes Anderson.  (That’s a good thing IMO.)  Just watch the trailer, and you’ll be convinced re: color.

meanwhile Gunn and Tarantino seem to be the only directors in hollywood that actually know how the fuck to use color anymore.

The Hobbit enters public domain in 2033. That doesn’t extend to the other Middle-earth books, which were published decades later. And those laws vary from country to country.

Tron- yes!

According to her recent profile in the New Yorker (via Comic Book), Barbie director Greta Gerwig is committed to direct “at least two” Chronicles of Narnia movies at Netflix.
