The powers that be didn’t create the #metoo movement. Sick and tired women did.

“When are we going to get...?” You aren’t...unless you start one. No one is ever going to GIVE black people anything, just like no one is going to give anyone, anything unless the make a case for it and convince other people to buy in. YOU create the movement. Or don’t.
What’s a gray?
You’re 100% right. Because people generally don’t care that much about other people’s problems.
It’s really not that simple. It’s that people are selfish and mostly care about their own.
Right, but they’re not aligned with RACISM either. They’re fighting for gun control, flat out. And they have the right to tackle an issue that isn’t specifically about racism. And yes, they’re mobilizing around an issue that has PERSONALLY affected them. The same way BLM mobilizes around an issue that personally…
Why exactly do these traumatized kids need to defer to your needs right now?
How are POC pitted against each other?
Well, plenty of black women are having their #metoo moment.
Most white people don’t hate black people. They just don’t care. Because people care about their own—their family, their friends, maybe their community, not really much beyond that.
It’s because THIS incident of gun violence isn’t about racism—its about access, gun laws, mental illness. Shocking, but there are other pressing issues besides racism.
They’re not blaming the world—that’s a BLM thing. Their rage is coming from the fact that their friends who had their heads blown off by a psycho who never should have had access to guns. And they’re working towards doing something SPECIFIC to prevent it happening in the future. Maybe BLM can take a cue from this and…
I don’t even know what you’re saying—that the Parkland victims should have been using their platform to stump for BLM instead of general gun control? Also... “there isn’t one black person I know who isn’t supportive of the Parkland youths, and who isn’t also hurting from the constant reminder that we are undeserving…
1) The didn’t control for credit score or debt.
What is the definition of “battery”? Going in for a kiss and boob squeeze is gross but I think of battery as something that....leaves a mark.
Forget the reviews. I just binged watched AC and I really enjoyed. That sort of world building is so complicated and rare. There were moments here and there I thought they could do better, but overall I really, really liked it. Too my critics with too little to say.
I totally agree. The article was HORRIBLE and does disservice to the book, the show, and basically, people. Her attempts at being anti-racist were beyond intolerant and racist. I’ve really had it with these idiots.
Everything just SUCKS. The students were 100% wrong—it’s a high school play, the role should go to the most talented, not the most appropriate racially. Unless you’re OK with only Jews being cast in Fidler on the Roof and white people in Oklahoma. Or if, say, you’re NOT OK with the stars of Hamilton being hispanic or…
Um, the POINT of a board like this is to express ones opinions. Now if Hollybear7 was say, a judge, in this case, this would be a huge problem. But yes, in the context of Jezebel, anyone really has the right to express their opinion about a story—that’s why the boards exist. Why are you even here?
You have ALL lost perspective. For staters, you have no idea if these boys were even SUCCESSFUL at racking up any sort of sex numbers. And even if there were this is no crime in trying. No, sorry, it is not a crime. It’s gross. And tacky. And morally wrong. But we still have something called free will. These boys had…
