I’m a witness to this particular story.

Several years ago, I helped a female friend go car shopping. I was there primarily to keep her from being scammed, although I also helped her with details of features, stats, etc. She is an engineer, so she knows mechanical stuff inside and out, although she didn’t know other aspects of car buying in as much detail.

I’m afraid that that gift is approximately $700,000 more than I can afford.

Is there any limit to the depravity of police in Texas?

I actually have the right car for him:

C’mon. Would it kill them to lower their safety standards a bit?

I dunno, there is definitely something fishy about all these tall tails. If I had a fin for every time I heard one—well, I’d be swimming in money as much as Joe Pesci. He could give all of us a piscatorial lesson or two....

Q: How many TERFs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

How moral of you to wish death on this person.

I’ll quote the old fashioned way, since formatting tools are currently Kinja’ed:

An old-fashioned quote, since formatting tools are still Kinja’ed:

Kinja editorial oversight.

It’s a bit like what they say about Harley-Davidsons: 90% of them are still on the road, but 10% of them were able to make it home.

Of *course* abortion should be rare! At least in an ideal world, that is.

Function before form.

Formatting tools are flaky again, so I’ll quote the old fashioned way:

Actually, no, I minimize how much I am tracked. I turn off location services.  I turn off my phone. I use cash whenever I can. I avoid driving on major highways, that are equipped with cameras. I refuse to use devices such as EZ-Pass. Etc.

I wish I could say that I am so smart that I refused to play these games, because I knew that they were going to make use of my private information. I can say this about, for example, Facebook.

That could be cleared up pretty quickly.

Decades ago, I sometimes worked as a secretary to help make ends meet.
