No. Even an attempted massacre of members of Congress in a softball game did not do the trick. Representative Scalise was severely injured, yet he came out of it even more in support of his misreading of the Second Amendment! 

I have additional questions:

In both cases, strong/swift and most importantly consistent action is required to make the removal of both effective. Anything less is just letting the enemy loose a battle but ultimately win the war because both are relentless.

A quick reminder, everyone: please leave the trolls and the True Believer hate mongers in the grays.
