Honestly, I only read the TV coverage and Newswire with any regularity, but I used to be fastidious about devouring it all. The film coverage has become really onerous and yeah, the music coverage is patchy and slight. It just seems strange to get a reviewer to devote time to a C- Matt & Kim album when there's a

Little Edie is only obscure to people with bad taste. I thought Roxxxy did badly? I guess at least Tamar had a reality show or something. But yeah, it could definitely work. And I suspect they've left the reveal of what Katya's doing out of the promos/sneak peek for a reason.

My only take on this beyond "consensus is boring" is that Stray Dogs is sadly low. Anyway, number one should be Inside Llewyn Davis, bye.

She's gone well beyond bitchy. She's just an asshole. All this smug presumption of superiority, "oh I thought you'd be TERRIBLE but you turned out…okay" shit, and she seems totally blind to her own failings as a queen despite a reasonable level of self-awareness. Apparently she goes after Max AGAIN in Untucked this

There's a rumour she's doing a Russian gymnast whose name I can't remember, apparently notorious for being a diva. But I kind of hope not, because that's an obscurity that would be difficult to overcome.

I'd say a lot of queens this season - Max, Kasha Davis, Trixie - fall into that age-old category of "great drag queens who don't really fit Drag Race". I want to look at Max, but never hear her speak.

Unacknowledged assumption isn't really the same thing as actually coming out and being open about it though, c'mon.

Michelle is still the best regular judge on the panel by far. I think with a crop of queens this weak overall, someone needs to be clocking them harshly. Her Whatcha Packin' webisodes with the eliminated queens show how much the version of her on the panel is a character itself anyway.

I think the tide is turning against Ginger. She's far more bitter and jaded than she is talented.

Apparently in Untucked she calls out Pearl for wearing the same thing down the runway every week. G i r l p l e a s e.

So is the AV Club just not reviewing Lower Dens' terrific new album…?

And now I'm thinking about Sal's doomed crush on Ken :(

I mean, I love both of them, but will they actually stand out? These comic book movies have a habit of swallowing great actors whole.

Oh yes, I was just furiously agreeing with you. And your last paragraph hits the nail on the head. The expectation of 'acceptable' gay representation has completely shifted to be almost only butch, which is what I find really troubling.

Sweetheart, you're trying way too hard to bash an innocuous show for dropping a bunch of jokes gays have been making about themselves since time immemorial into a nicely freshened up sitcom premise. I get that you're obviously really sad about being reminded that some gay men are camp and enjoying song and dance, but

The freakouts from people these days about effeminate gay men with coded feminine interests being shown in TV shows are really getting my goat. It's just internalised homophobia with a dash of misogyny - an affected growl of "don't lump me in with the sissies!". It's so goddamn tiresome. Feminine gay men still exist!

I WILL FOLLOW SUTTON FOSTER TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH, so I guess I'll watch this show.

God, her Liza is so good. It almost feels like they made Snatch Game later just to disadvantage the comedy queens. Instead they're clearly using it to just cement frontrunners - so basically, Ginger, Katya, probably Max and Kennedy are just going to get a boost from it, where usually it can help people stand out. Egh.

She said in Whatcha Packin' that she was :(

Kandy Ho is the Rita Ora of drag.
