This makes me want to see Kate McKinnon's Lily Tomlin.

Yeah, I mean, I find him tolerable in spite of that but he's definitely not going to be a particularly versatile asset to the show. It's definitely mugging, though. I guess I'll see how I feel as time goes on. I'm fine with it for now but in the future, who knows - especially with these new correspondents coming.
Yes! The sister and the dad are great. She reminds me of Janeane Garofalo a bit.
Oh I really just mean the whole "girls stare at purses, boys stare at boobs" stuff. It's pretty rudimentary, but when those elements are out of the picture in MLS, those two leads are charming as hell - and much funnier than the ones in AtZ, I think.
Honestly, I'm liking MLS more than A to Z because it's funnier and zingier. A to Z is so aggressively cute that it just reminds me how unbearable dating can be (whereas MLS riffs on that, which I think makes it a smarter show even if its gender politics are…off).
I guess I'm not totally getting why that makes it bad? I would assume making white people uncomfortable was very much the point of making it.
I've been on board with her from the start. I think she's incredible. I guess YMMV.
I was waiting for this to be mentioned. Best joke of the episode.
In that moment I was wishing I was Junior (that's probably weird and I don't care).
Jessica Williams and Sam Bee are consistently the show's best correspondents, so let's hire more dudes I guess? I already feel like Jordan Klepper gets more airtime than they do, it's a bit odd (not that he's bad).
Did he say he was straight? I'm pretty sure he just said he wasn't gay, and that he loved her.
Hey, well, Maulik Pancholy's character on Whitney came out as bisexual! Long after everyone had stopped watching Whitney.
I know I'd give him whatever information he wanted.
I thought for sure the fake hashtag would signify that stuff as being a joke, but I guess it's internet comments, so whaddaya gonna do. It got you to call me gay hitler, though, so it was worth it.
Boy, this got real. As a man who regularly and exclusively has sex with other men, I'm gonna point out that the freshness of the joke is not the point. The reason a gay man might tell his straight friends, or point out the extreme homoeroticism in sport, is because it's turning the tables on the taunting bullshit most…
I think you really underestimate how nice it is for us to be able to reclaim the macho bullshit most of us were precluded from in some way throughout our youth. That's all it is. Yeah, it is lazy, and I don't disagree with you. But getting indignant over -gay men- making them would be, frankly, stupid, because in my…
I'm digging the hell out of this White House Down vibe.
Nah, it's sweaty, muscled men wrestling each other and getting rough. It's pretty hot.
I'm asking the hard questions.
Keep going…
