In retrospect, perhaps, yes. But it was the second season which was the pantheon-qualifier, I sort of mean, when it couldn't be written off as a one season wonder and actually managed to ascend in quality. But yeah, Enlightened is probably more accurate.

I'm getting a feeling like akin to Arrested Development going from season 1 to season 2, or Enlightened 1 to 2. Great shows becoming (underwatched) classics.

Demo ratings are proportional, though.

This might be the Archer phrase I use most in real life.

My kingdom for this competition to find someone as wonderfully weird as Tammie Brown next season. I thought Milk might have been that before it started but look how that turned out.

Gia is such a fucking child. I can't believe I know people who were cheering her on in even a small way. I didn't really care for Milk, ultimately, but I do feel sorry for her for having to weather that "you're not feminine enough" bullshit. Girl needs to familiarise herself with someone like Mathu Andersen (who you'd

Isn't it fun that the idea of a 66-year-old action hero is what finally stretches audience belief, and not the cop posing as a kindergarten teacher or the idea that Arnie and Danny DeVito could be twins or Arnie falling pregnant?

That's what the Adult Swim website's schedule says. I wonder why?

It was a joke, child. A joke made from experience.

Oh I know you weren't trying to dis her, I just took the opportunity to ramble about the diversity of women's perspectives in comedy (even if not as widespread as they should be) and how rarely that's recognised.

This plot reminded me of the sketch series by Sasheer Zamata and Nicole Byer; in one episode, Nicole sleeps with a guy who keeps leaving presents in her vagina. It's great, they're great.

The difference between IAS and BC is format, yes, but also tone and intent. BC is very much a conversational show, which is why the Louie comparisons are ao accurate. It has a fluidity and it weaves its so-called raunchier aspects through that in a way that doesn't call attention to them.

…I'm going to allow this.

This show was the comedic manna from heaven that 2014 needed. Praise be.

Too much of me just wishes she'd gone, "Hey, interchangeable lab guys, can one of you go check it out for me?"

And Lucy Liu on Elementary.

Hm. Perhaps it's just that, as time goes on, I realise more and more how dull total fidelity to source material can be. If I want the experience of reading the book or what have you, I'll just read the book.
