People who refuse to do the job they are paid to do have their job security threatened, what an absolutely misogynistic racist sentiment that is !

Thanks for the warning. Can we move on now? Some of us didn’t like either of the candidates and just want this nightmarish election cycle to end. We get it, Trump is “literally Hitler” and a real poopy head, but you know what? I heard practically the same kinds of things from conservatives when Obama was elected.

I’m sure these warnings will be just as heeded as the “don’t run the one person who might lose to an idiot like Donald Trump” warning.

Why is it unreasonable? They have the legal right to refuse.

It’s reasonable to ask them to do so if that is their job. If they don’t want to do it, no one is forcing them. Sometimes standing up for your rights means accepting sacrifice. I couldn’t refuse to do my job because I despised a client without getting fired. Most people couldn’t. The Rockettes are no different.

I think a lot of people have forgotten that part of protesting is facing the consequences of protesting.

I agree. I hate that people keep using the term “forced” here. No, this is not forced labor. Forced labor would be if they were dragged to the stage.Working under threat of termination is not force, it is...well...pretty standard. If I refused to represent a client this way, I would bet money that my job would be on

I don’t see how “normal” fits into the discussion. Their job says they have to work for a client they don’t wish to associate with. They can choose to do their job, or they can sacrifice it for their beliefs. It’s the same choice anyone has when their job asks them to do something they don’t want to do.

Yup. My job does business with clients I’m not a fan of, but that doesn’t mean I get a choice in the matter.

Am I the only one who thinks this is vaguely reasonable? Like, they’re job is to do the shows, and if they don’t want to do this particular show... that’s a fine choice to make but it’s incompatible with the job for apparent reasons. What am I missing?

I can sympathize, but at the end of the day it’s a job like any other. If we got a contract from Donald Trump at my job, and I refused to work on the account, I’d be fired. Sometimes standing up for what you believe in requires sacrifice.

You’re the guy that thinks participation trophies are good things.

Their Super Bowl odds for the foreseeable future will not be reflecting that sentiment, at all.

RE: Let’s just give the MVP to Tom Brady....

Too bad for your cute truism, the stadium sold out a number of different high school football games this year.

Have you been to Texas?

Go fuck yourself no one deserves to be treated that way.

She knew exactly what she was doing and what the potential outcomes were from flying commercial.

So...if she flies private, she’s a rich, entitled skunk who is wasting taxpayer dollars...and if she flies commercial, she’s just as bad.
