Oh for fuck's sake
Oh for fuck's sake
I don't think it's meta enough. I know meta humor can get overbearing and too self indulgent when left unchecked BUT… it's Deadpool, right?
That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me
You know how Tim Allen became Santa Clause?
Watched a LOT of classic Star Trek and some Mr Plinkett film reviews.
Well, I never DENIED being God, so…
PIXELS:
Alright.
The Thief games are on sale, and I wanna try the first one for primarily… educational purposes (and fun, I suppose).
I can confirm for AAD&D
Paper Towns makes me wanna slowly shiv Teenage Biran's romantic hopes and dreams to death with a thumbtack.
Does it have an absurdly flimsy grasp of the source material? Fuck yes.
I think I've settled with Ant-Man having a well thought out plot but it takes too many character shortcuts to make a real impact. Too many characters just fell flat, in my opinion. Even Paul Rudd was dangerously borderline uninteresting, elevated mostly by his natural charm.
In no particular order because I'm lazy:
In hindsight, my only real qualms are that it could have been more imaginative with certain set pieces (and maybe the ending), Hope was a disappointing character, and Scott doesn't change as a person/receive a reinforced character beat that expresses why he already IS a good person and a hero without the powers.
"Some episodes too conceptual to be funny, some too funny to be immersive and some so immersive they still aren't funny. Consistency between seasons may vary."
Ant-Man is really good, fun, charming, and worth your time.
But I want so badly to hate it.
This happened with my grandmother. As she got older, her views kept changing, sometimes disappointingly so.
I kinda hate that I got drunk instead of seeing this.
I feel that 'Community' was snubbed in the Comedy Writing category. It feels good to say that 'Community' was snubbed again, even if it sucks that no one will know that "Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Twlevision" ever happened.
I'd gladly take any of those as well. In fact, I know a guy who did an extensive analysis of David Fincher's filmography for a college application…
