How many times has this show dealt with cannibalism?
How many times has this show dealt with cannibalism?
God. September 1994…
A world just before Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption…
(But dammit, it doesn't work for Forrest Gump)
I just finished it. I was bothered by a lack of complete closure to all the loose story threads, but I DID like the very dark ending. It was abrupt, and oddly satisfying.
Overall, this is on par with the rest of the series, and I was more than happy to see a return to form. It was funny, weird, ambitious and…
I've made a tremendous calculative error.
Nothing like good ole Adventure Time, rather accurately displaying the trials and tribulations of adolescent romance.
But (of course) through shocking, confusing and disturbing metaphors.
Well, f**ck.
So what was this show about?
Anatomy?
Clever, but overstuffed as usual. But I hope the show doesn't disappear up its own asshole.
I can suspend my disbelief with the show's logic, but there is a limit.
Overall, it was fast, frenetic, fun, and almost a total cop out. But I am ok with it, because the John Hurt reveal was rather brilliant.
I just love Finn and Jake's commitment to the bit, even when things escalate horribly.
*cue rimshot*
Yay! A third potential series finale in a season not given enough time to flesh out its ideas!
My favorite episode is a showdown between Dungeons & Dragons, and Remedial Chaos Theory. But I also have to admit that Intro to Felt Surrogacy has really grown on me.
My least favorite has to be Course Listing Unavailable. It was a showcase of how carried away the second half of season 3 got, and ultimately lead to a…
Dammit! Why do I feel an onslaught of guilt for liking this? Look, it wasn't perfect, but Jiminy Cricket, I didn't hate it THAT much.
I laughed. A lot. I smiled through it all. The ending felt genuine and not forced. I can appreciate the dislike for "it all being in Jeff's head," but this is JEFF'S episode. The whole…
This is definitely not something for new viewers, scratching their heads and wondering if something was slipped into their drink.
They would probably be initially confused by BMO, and everything else would blur from then on.
Sorry, I may have over stepped myself. I really like Parks and Rec, and may have gotten too caught up in the moment. I also was being a hypocrite, plus bringing Community into this discussion was ill advised.
I agree with you on the opposition that Leslie faces. When will she ever face an opponent that isn't a complete off the wall asshole or an incompetent moron? All conflicts this season have been out right cartoonish and larger than life, and I cannot take any of them seriously. It still is funny, week after week, but I…
To be honest, I enjoyed Community's retread into the past tonight far more enjoyable than tonight's Parks. While Parks probably provided the biggest out loud laughs, I still think that Community's plot structure is excellent.
Still funny as always, but to be honest, I found the narrative to be very weak. It story felt too similar, and while I know the callbacks are meant to give us a sense of closure, I can't help but shake the thought that these people in this show really haven't gone ANYWHERE from a character standpoint. I haven't felt…
Gave it an A-.
Am I too generous? Perhaps, but I still believe that this season has the best overall flow and sense of direction. (Maybe because the episode count is lower). But regardless, I enjoyed seeing the group's backstory, and loved the episode for doing two things:
1. It had Chang redeem himself. It would have…
I personally found it to be a fine episode, albeit a little bit too inconsequential. I really hope that they are building to something BIG (Character-wise). But regardless, Danny Pudi was in fine form, and enjoyed how he gleefully took the situation.
But the "Chaos Theory" callback? Really unnecessary, and it just…
