What genius thought this sign was a good idea?

Worked with a guy that was whining about MLK Day over 20 years ago. Karma came for him when he was caught embezzling from the company and fired. The fact that he was STILL working there after so long, says it all.

According to the Census, there are about 8 Black people in Millinocket (I mean this literally, 0.2% of a population of 4,000). And I would bet that’s the most in any surrounding community, because it’s the biggest town in the area. It would have been so easy to not have been racist (or to keep her racism hidden), but

I think sometimes that people forget that Maine is a predominantly red state. I spend a lot of time in Portland because I have family there, but once you get past the city the further (farther?) north you get, the fewer POC you see, and the more racist it gets. On a road trip to Canada, driving through Maine, my best

This is the middle of nowhere in Maine. Have these people even seen a person of color ever? I mean in real life.

In fairness, that town is about to be inundated with waters from a dammed river. So at least there it’s literal.  Now get me a dam beer.

The white tears will lift you up out of your doldrum.

On the bright side they lost 2 lines of insurance. Reminds me of all the Trump supporters who lost their jobs for the same kind of racist remarks

I didn’t introduce that closing link I provided, but Paul LePage is the, I shit you not, official 2022 Republican gubernatorial candidate: un-con-test-ed. Polling currently gives him a better than 4-in-10 chance to take the general.

Maine and NH could be dropped next to GA and FLA and no one would know

He got reelected AFTER saying a bunch of that shit, too.

Quit your whining.

I find this so disappointing, and other replies on that facebook page asking for forgiveness for her and giving her the benefit of the doubt make me lose hope in humanity.

Yelp had to shut down the reviews! So funny.

Your comment reminds me of the movie “Deliverance” when, at the end, after the redneck, backwood yahoos in the very isolated town of Aintry killed several of Burt Reynolds’ friends, the sheriff tells them to go away and just let that town die.

Looks like Progressive removed them from their site. Guess we'll have to wait and see how long that lasts.

Holy shit…

You’re leaving out all the genocide he committed. Also how his holiday was created by FDR in 1934 as a cynical move to court Italian-American voters, who were barely considered white by the definitions of the era.

Sure, there are people that imagine Maine just enables horrific evil like Susan Collins or a Stephen King town, but really, they’re Paul LePage.

That sign next to the flag is peak America.
