Yes, Harker arrives at the Castle officially as the Count’s new librarian - not a real estate agent - but is in actuality there to kill Dracula. I can totally understand Dracula needing a librarian, after so many centuries his Archie collection must be a mess.

I think I see what happened with the vanishing posts. It was because you posted twice last time and I replied to the second post and then the new posts got stacked under that one or something like that. I’m glad there’s an explanation even though it still confuses me. I’d hate to go back to the old routine where we

I watched this week the first two movies in Hammer’s Dracula series.

Claudia, my posts keep disappearing!  This is my third try!  I hope something shows up eventually!

My post disappeared!  That hasn’t happened for a long time.  Okay, I remember the old trick is to post another one, so let’s see if that works.

I am kind of looking forward to my seven hour bus ride because it does at least force me to sit still for that long. So I’m really going to be prepared. Comics, music, games, podcasts. And snacks, obviously! Lots and lots of trail mix and dry breakfast cereal and I guess any other snacks that won’t melt. I don’t know

I spent two hours trying to figure out how to make the bus connections I need. Google Maps won’t help me at all! I’ve been abandoned by both Google and Siri. I guess the local bus company doesn’t use GPS. Maybe its a stagecoach? If the whole ride was by horses it would be worth it! But there’s no reason a stagecoach

Does Mimipuff get upset when Pooh bear has to go in the wash? Did you have a favourite stuffed animal? Mine is my Grover who I still have. I haven’t put him in the wash for a long time, I’m worried he’d drown.

Claudia, I think our neighbours might be a bit nuts. Okay, all day there were three dogs in their yard standing in a row. They aren’t real dogs, they’re made of cement or something. Which is a little odd. But what mades it TOO odd is they keep moving them around! Sometimes they will be all bunched together in one

This week was all Pasolini for me, I watched Hawks & Sparrows and Teorema. Teorema is I think Italian for “Terence Stamp’s crotch.” Hawks & Sparrows is engaging enough and funny here and there, but it is so forcefully Marxist that it keeps escaping my wheelhouse no matter how hard I try to hang onto it.

Teorema I

I hope your classrooms aren’t too hot, are they air conditioned? It never gets hot enough here for me because I’m so naturally cold. It did go into the 30s last week, which I think was a heat record for here! 32 is the perfect temperature for me, less than that and I still feel a little cold. Do you have a perfect

Claudia, I can’t stop looking at Quokka pictures! How could such an animal exist? Its just so cute and happy and friendly! Don’t some of the pictures look like they’re even giggling? It doesn’t seem like most of the people are feeding them, the little furry things are just coming over to be friendly! Once while hiking

Could you ask Janine maybe to make a plaster cast out of your handprints in the driveway before the move? It would be just too sad to lose them. I hope you can trust everyone to safely pack up your Nancy Drews and all your outfits. Is the phone in your room still the original BSC phone? I mean the very first phone you

Mimipuff sounds so cute! I’m glad to hear how nice everything is for you at the moment! I’ll bet you can hardly wait until she is old enough to understand the BSC stories! Or have you tried reading them to her already?

Gingham is unexpected! Early 60s Betty Draper!

Please tell me more about your art classes! I hope you can find a way to make that work, you would be an excellent teacher. Do you and your cousin teach together?

I watched this week two movies: the 1978 Lord of the Rings, and Visconti’s White Nights.

Hi Claudia!! I freaked out when I saw the notifications because I haven’t posted at AV Club for a week! I always get nervous when the little blue number thing pops up when I’m not expecting it because I don’t know its just kind of weird like the doorbell ringing in the middle of the night!

On the subject of movie titles being misinterpreted:

I spent my movie nights this week on (please pardon my language) The Damned, and And Now The Screaming Starts.
