The link about urine reflecting the contents of what your body is trying to get rid of is not relevant to this article. That link was about actually measuring sodium content in the urine, which is not what people use to benchmark hydration.

Dear Lifehacker,

Depends on the computer. With people who are technologically inept, I implement host-based ad blocking, because they can’t be trusted to not follow browser instructions like “turn off your ad blocker! It’s okay, really!”

I implement a number of ad blockers as a matter of course on my computer(s) and my family’s.

If it was trolling, he/she doesn’t care what your explanation is.

Okay, hold up here.

I got set up with a new Macbook at work. Windows/Android user in every other aspect.

I think it’s useful for people with smart home stuff. A friend of mine has a lot of smart home gadgets, and he has IFTTT set up to turn on his thermostat to the right temperature and switch on the lights when he leaves his office, so he always arrives home to a warm/cool house with the lights already on.

I’d guess it’s because you can have n-number of expanded USB connections, whereas the headers in the case are typically limited.

I’m not saying it’s right. I’m saying it’s real.

A tip for everyone:

The article says it’s a plea. The judge might not accept it. I’m just pointing out that, if the plea is accepted, it doesn’t seem to fit the crime.

20 years sounds like a pretty minor sentence for putting citizens and officers into life-threatening situations, including one that resulted in an actual death.

I’m not saying this is the greatest film in the history of time, I’m just saying that Citizen Kane should probably be looking over its shoulder.

LastPass is basically my default recommendation. For the vast majority of people, it’s the best option.

I recommend that anyone using a password manager (well, first, I recommend everyone use a password manager) store this stuff in their password manager, and have 2-factor authentication for their password manager.

How do you propose that Apple provide access to phones under a subpoena, in a manner that cannot be abused by anyone else?

There is no way for the phone to differentiate between a hacker and a law enforcement personnel.

I’ve stayed in dozens of AirBnbs all around the world.

What are you talking about?
