Obviously there are exceptions everywhere, but generally speaking, if there are no jobs in the area, it's probably better to move. This isn't an easy answer, but sometimes you have to examine the situation a little closer: how did you end up living in an area that has no jobs for you? Is this just an economic downturn…

I really wish we could get synchronized notifications across the board. I frequently switch between tablet/phone/laptop over the course of a day, and it'd be awesome to not have to dismiss notifications in multiple places.

Well, there is an element of trust, but you can add each others' accounts to your phones, and then go into the account settings and uncheck the pieces you don't want to sync.

What I'm saying isn't about ivy league schools - it's about carefully evaluating how much it's going to cost to obtain an education at <insert school here> and whether that will pay off.

The problem is the hot/cold issue was built up by describing it and presenting it from another source, then dismissed in just a few words. By the time you dismiss it, you already have a bunch of people who have formed an angry opinion. They may, at that point, either be skimming, or skipping, or just want to vent.

I never suggested they should comply. I was only responding to the comment that the service provider's cooperation provided everything necessary for the government to read the payload.

So... you're of the opinion that the government should be able to see into any and every communication?

It doesn't matter if a service provider is working with the NSA, if the container they're providing has encrypted data inside it.

I'm not really sure about the VPN, it depends on how the iPad handles the VPN connection. It should know what traffic is local and what traffic is remote, so it should be able to communicate with your Apple TV.
