the completionist in me wants to die at quitting one episode out. so I'll put up with it.

That's a good way to put it: typical prestige soap opera format. And that's what doesn't do it for me. Plus the Gerhardts + mafia stuff has never been my cup of tea. It all feels so staged to me (and I don't think that was their intention at all). I miss the viscerality and bloodthirstiness of the first season.
I think when we go back into the present in Season 3 I won't be so distracted by the historical set pieces and will enjoy the show again.
k.
What you can't put a finger on is what I'm trying to figure out. I'm generally pretty astute about critical TV, but this season of Fargo has left me cold (no pun intended)
yeah, you're right. that was a phrase too far. Peggy has my sympathies and some semblance of an interest; but I'm a very character driven viewer and so I just can't connect here at all with the writing. makes me super sad kitty face, I want to join in the love here but I don't know how.
I guess because I'm not invested in the characters it becomes bloody hard not to get overfocused on the setting, and all I can see is 'this is obviously a 1970s setpiece' and it makes it all feel too clever/takes me out of it entirely. The only times that hasn't been the case was at the diner in episode 1 and anytime…
Am I the only who just isn't feeling this season at all? I loved the first season desperately but I can't pay attention to/care//give two fucks about any of these characters. I feel like the first season did such a good job fleshing out its characters and giving you a reason to support them (even when they were…
poo. was super intrigued to read it, too.
Why do I have to login to read the pre-air review?
boo.
Nah, I'm a TV cat, not a movie kitty. I got shit to do and mousiez to chase. I don't want to sit anywhere for two hours straight to see Ben Affleck mug for anything.
At least with this show there is a very good chance the IS terrorists might actually pull the Sarin Gas attack off. On a lesser show all the enjoyment of the potential of the horrific attack would be gone by now because the 'good guys' always win.
punny.
yeah, the review is totally wrong and BS on that point. It was still all forward momentum of an episode.
I don't understand this C grade either. For me, this was thrilling and had quite a bit of tension and dread buildup.
Finally the show called Danny out on his shit. Have to say that that fight felt like such a relief and definitely made me rethink last week's horrific episode.
Nope. Michonne deserves way better than Dumbass McFartFace
Yeah, this list is great and all; but if you're NOT IN THE UNITED STATES, you can use things like 'Watchseries' and 'Project Free TV' for all of these shows, too. You know, because everyone worldwide deserves to have good TV, not just people sitting on their ass in the US. Especially shit that's already been canceled.
Thank you for this. I did not see this statement. I get that connection you can have with someone over art and intellectual pursuits. i am very very gay and have mind-attractions to women, but it hasn't crossed into kissing ever.
Just gonna say it: f*ck that kiss with Jamal and Alicia Keys. F*ck it. F*ck it. F*ck it. I have never literally thrown something at a screen before now, but now my Macbook pro is covered in furious paperclips and spit from all my hissing.
