@KamWrex: Hearted for an eminently reasonable comment.

To me, this looks undeniably awful. That video of the gesture control to flick through movies and choose numbers and letters? Absolutely painful to watch. To me, this still looks like a tech demo: definite potential, but not ready for prime time.

@Necrotoxin: I'm replying to you and not to universalcode because I don't want to dignify his comment with a promote. The bottom line is that it this ruling is patently ridiculous. It it nanny-statism at its worst.

@M3tALHaz3: People who are for this ruling should be forced to have a state administrator come into their home, remove all candy and processed foods in excess of 600 calories, and remove any toys that they deem inappropriate for children.

1994, you say, the last time the GOP took over congress? Poised to do it again, and the McRib comes back nationwide?

@gmuslera: I'd love to have that screen with the iOS software.

@Jack Skitt: well, they detect my one year old's finger quite well, and his is a lot narrower than the major iPad pen styluses. So they could be made narrower, I believe.

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.3: I can also recommend the Boxwave - much better than the pogo. It also has a rubber tip and works pretty well.

@EBone: yes, but it's probably more expensive overall to maintain a giant wind turbine.

@bagumpity: Q: What's a Jawa's favorite musician?

@Edfire77: 'science goes where the data take it.'. Yes, that's right. And unsurprisingly the data are taking science rightfully away from the fear mongering sky is falling nanny statism of the agw crowd.

@dufus: That's exactly what this is. This type of contempo bullshit makes me ill.

@wheresmykey: I'm telling you, one piece almost always does the trick. Far less waste than tp.

Toilet paper? What's that?

My fastest game of Windows Solitaire (klondike) with the 3-card flop was 43 seconds. After that, I knew I had a problem and stopped playing.

@marius004: Get a boxwave capacitive pen input.

@Timo Ohr: I have to agree somewhat. I admit that I like the iPad far more than I thought I would, but some things just make me furious. The number one culprit is the lack of a file system.

@Josh Barker: I don't see it that way. With a standard bright lcd, this thing has all the negatives of using the iPad as an e-reader, and none of the benefits (it certainly won't compete in terms of functionality). I'm just saying they should have brought to market the first wide-use tft transreflective e-ink/lcd

Is the screen transreflective? If not, why not just get an iPad? Yes, I know it's cheaper. If it's easily hackable and a homebrew community pops up, then it may be worth it. but as an e-reader? c'mon.
