Good cast, decent song selection. It seems heartwarming. They probably ditched the Duplass Brothers from this project because they wanted the movie to actually be funny rather than just "quirky", which I believe is shorthand for bullshitting your way through constant tonality shifts.

I remember in the 2000's pretty much until The Avengers and after The Dark Knight it was a fairly distinct list. Now in the top 30: Spider-Man is on the list 3 times, Star Wars 4, and 10 are Disney properties.

I understand that the A.V. Club fits right in with the Cheap Trick audience, and upon their announcement as hall of famers and here they claimed deservedly so, but can someone explain to me why apart from a few great pop songs they deserved the title over the more greatly influential and higher voted band 'Yes'.
