I don’t know...seems pretty clear that they are. It’s reasonable for an umpire to miss this call in real time, but I don’t see how replay didn’t overturn it.

It’s not entirely clear his fingers were actually touching the plate. If you want to blame someone, blame the ump whose initial call holds more weight.

Good point. I’d like to know the average useful lifespan of the more recent stadiums. I assume that 30 years is just a banking standard and has nothing to do with how long the stadium expects to be used.

I have no doubt Jerry is going to ask for a new stadium in 10 years.
