Sexual crimes are generally considered worse when the victims are children. Not only that, there were many more victims and the University and head coach enabled this for decades, rather than a matter of years.

I look at this like I look at Josh Gordon going into rehab. Well...no shit that happened. It would have been bigger news if he DIDN’T ultimately wind up in rehab. That’s how I feel about Baylor right now. Is anybody really surprised anymore?

Sincere reply: Baylor is in Texas. People don’t expect better behavior from schools in Texas. If Baylor executed three football players tomorrow, most people would be like, “Hey, did you see they changed the track model for that hurricane?”

All of the above? I mean, what happened at Baylor is horrible, but there was a ton of pushback from current and former PSU students that helped to fan the flames that engulfed JoePa 

I think part of it is that there is no widespread, pernicious belief that little boys regularly make up allegations for attention.

Pedophilia is much more ‘exotic’ than regular run of the mill heterosexual rape.
