I remember reading that Roger Ebert never judged a movie like Weekend at Bernie's (made up example) like it should compare to Citizen Kane, but instead held it up against similar movies to see how it compared.

Not all, but a lot of them! :)
It would be better if they actually dance. Superhero "Cop Rock", baby!
A reverse Black Rider.
I liked it. It humanized the character. What's the point of a character driven by the murder of his loved ones if he's too shallowly characterized to actually be able to understand love?
I had a french friend who was coming in to the office in the morning, while another friend and I were outside smoking, and we joked with him about him wearing a beret, which we'd never seen before, and playing up the whole French thing…and he goes "Watch this!" Walks 6 feet back to his car and pulls a fucking BAGUETTE…
Stride Mother?
Same here!
as well as frustrating and unfortunate? ;)
Yeah it's more Savva nitpicking. Surprised he didn't find it somehow sexist as well. I mean hey, when Miyamoto Musashi wasn't beating people's asses with a wooden sword, he drank tea and painted cherry blossoms too. It's not stereotypical if it's realistic, is it?
I love Frank's flirty, friendly vibe with the older waitress lady. That gave him depth too. Minus the shootout, I'm sure he's the best customer she'd had all night, even if he was only drinking coffee. The Marvel Universe knows how to create a good diner scene, as the first Thor movie bears out. ;)
♫Ohhhhhh! Taco Bell, Taco Bell, product placement with Taco Bell! Encherito, NACHO BURRITO!♫
Prince?
Wow that is a good/fair review!
Ah ok! There's lots of big word slingers on AVC so I'm never surprised when I see one I hadn't word before. More so when it's not a real word! ;)
I still haven't seen TT yet, but I did recognize the reference. :)
Has Bong ever had a big hit?
Shows how far you can go with great actors and very little dialogue! :D
Word up!
For a while I thought Humpty was Tupac with a nose.
Oh that's perfectly understandable (in which I imply heavily that I understand exactly what you're saying, when I in fact do not know what "ablest" means).
