Awesome, been wanting this for awhile. Will be nice to be able to easily play my library on my home theater's sound system.

Kotaku is not exactly the easiest place to keep track of news as lots of posts go up quickly and not all of them are on gaming.

Not only are they saving money, they are making money by selling them separately. I'd be very surprised if the part itself cost more than $1 to manufacture, and they are selling them for around ~$10 a pop. So even if they bumped up the price of the n3DS to account for it it would only be a dollar or two more, not $15.

I just think the matte white and colored SNES-style face buttons of the standard version looks great, reminds me of the DS Lite, my all-time favorite handheld system. That, and like have others have mentioned, the fact that the image quality/pixel density is a bit better than the XL, would've made "downgrading" to the

Based on the other replies, it appears that only in certain regions (such as the US), did the XL come with an ac adapter. It may only have been included with certain versions too (which would be even stranger). I got the Blue/Black XL bundled with Mario Kart 7 (this one), and it came with the adapter.

I dunno.. bit too gaudy for my tastes. Wish the US was getting that gorgeous white n3DS with the SNES-style candy colored face buttons. :'-(

The 3DSXL most certainly did come with an AC adapter.

The new system will cost you $200. Our Japan folks say it's great. It'll be available in both red and black when it launches, and it won't include an AC adapter, so keep your old 3DS ones around.

Gears of War would like a word with you. :-)

Forget GvG, I want the android tablet version already!

"One...two....five!" "Three, sir!" "Three!"

Can you dynamically toggle between 3rd and 1st person on the fly, a la Fallout 3/NV, or is it setting in the game options?

There was 10 people playing, so you'd expect the matchmaking system to evenly distribute the teams as 5v5. :-)

That went over my head too... some some sort of halo-specific meme I'm guessing?

And what do we have here? A tommy gun!!!

There's a "Maybe" option? I never remember seeing that, only other one I've seen was "Not Yet".

Why are these review summary box things an image? What is this, 1999? :-P

I love how you can teleport into the background layers, that's pretty clever.

I had to keep restarting and reloading Wasteland 2 for not better reason than this: I kept fucking up, and irreversibly so. I'd build the wrong foursome of starting characters, and wouldn't be able to hold my own in the game's vicious combat system. Or I'd fail to plan ahead and stock up on supplies, leaving my squad
