I don’t know. I think the explanation given at the time was that killing just Ana Lucia didn’t have enough oomph, but killing Libby added to the shock of that scene. But that basically amounts to an admission of fridging.

Bruce, you aren’t the only one who remembers Buffy St Marie for her music. I, too, was surprised by the inclusion of “God Is Alive, Magic Is Afoot”. On the one hand, it’s the perfect choice, on the other it’s kind of odd in that it’s an obscure album track from the early 70's.

I’m Gonna Be A Country Girl Again is an awesome Country-Pop album available on streaming services. Not a bad song on it.

Buffy’s version of ‘Helpless’ is the definitive one in my mind.

It’s overkill, and there have been so many inconsistencies in pacing and plot this season that the show is morphing into Lost, or worse, we’ll get a nosedive that mirrors the last two seasons of Game of Thrones. I wasn’t loving some of the music choices for this episode (“Zombie” felt too on the nose), but having never heard Buffy St. Marie’s music, I was absolutely blown away by this song. Absolutely incredible.

Edit (since Kinja sucks): Wasn’t aware that Juliette Lewis had already expressed disappointment in the direction they wanted to take Nat in after S1, apologies!

I get why most of the movies on this list are forgotten. But “Con Air” is one of those movies I personally find very rewatchable... I guess it’s a guilty pleasure, but it also seems pretty ubiquitous on streaming platforms and cable TV and seems to have become part of the pop culture zeitgeist.

I think both things have to do with the writers either not knowing the full flashback plot, or being unsure how to write that into the present-day stuff; maybe a combination of the two. They can’t have them confront one another with “hey you did x, y, and z” because it’ll mess up the suspense.
