Same here... I understand why they wouldn’t. She died ruining someone elses life(driving her car into their home at 90mph, and destroying all their stuff, leaving them homeless and without who knows how many irreplaceable family mementos and items.

I’m part Irish and Irish fighting jokes don’t bother me at all. 100 years ago when the Irish were still a 2nd class member of society it might have been offensive, but now anybody taking offense to it just feels like they are looking for offense. Are you mad about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish too?

It’s simple. In 1939 Merle Oberon became the first actress with part Asian ancestry to get nominated, than Vivien Leigh later became the first actress with partial Asian ancestry to win. They both hid their Asian ancestry.

Not enough for me to bother with. It resides with all my random foreign currency that I have gotten either from customers or foreign travels. It is cool to have.

I think Cate Blanchette is great, but I get so tired of these Oscar bait roles year after from her and some other actors who are always "ACTING!!!" In some mopey story I couldn't possibly care about. I reflexively cheer against Oscar bait now.

Same here, first time in years that I've been invested in films and actors that actually have a chance. I've been in love with Michelle Yeoh since her movies with Jackie Chan started showing up here about 25 years ago. She got ripped off in Crouching Tiger. EEAAO was the best movie I have seen in years.

It reminds me of $1 Silver Certificates, of which I have 4. Since they are from 1957, that was the last year they printed a bajillion of them, they are worth exactly $1 on the collector market. They were converted to regular legal tender in the 1960's, so you can’t turn them in for silver anymore, but you can give

A blogger going by “The unapologetic Mexican” back in the day wrote a screed taking this movie apart piece by piece for racism. He made some fair points, but he runs into the same problem Michael Harriott used to when he was at the Root. To wit, extremely incisive and talented when they wanted to be, but given to

All I wanted was a Pepsi.

I’m surprised that they would write an article about Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner mentioning Katharine Houghton playing Katharine Houghton Hepburn’s daughter without mentioning that she was, in actuality, Hepburn’s niece. Their close relationship in real life informed their relationship in the film.

They can throw you out of Casinos for whatever they want. There is not a casino in the world that will let you play if you are known to have the ability to card-count. This would seem to be a similar skill in terms of being able to tilt the odds back in favor of a player.

In 1981, Cale Yarborough took a Camaro to Lemans and was evidently competitive until his brakes failed about an hour in, and given a choice between taking out a crowd of people, or putting it in the fence, he stuck it under the guardrail so hard that that it almost got to the windshield. 15 spectators and a rope were

Hey, I loved Belzer, but lets not exaggerate(Or more accurately weasel-word it so you don’t realize that at least 3 actors have passed that record since he retired). 2 of his own castmates have been playing their characters for more than 22 years. Ice T has been playing his character since season 2, for at least 22

I think the reason she is on the list is because Rebecca Romijn was hot as hell and mostly naked.

I never understood the love for Killmonger, especially among women. He’s just about the biggest misogynist in the MCU. He kills his girlfriend for no reason, bullies and is rude to women throughout the movie. Plus, the man has no chin!

I remember seeing that car in Brigg’s museum in 1984 or so. It was a slow day, and he was acting as a docent that day, and he could see I was an enthusiast, so he walked me around the museum and regaled me with stories about the cars.

I tried to like “You Must Remember This” but her delivery made me want to shoot my speakers out and shove hot pokers in my ears. She starts out with a bad case of “NPR Voice”, and then layers obnoxious affectation after obnoxious affectation on it. I think if literally anyone else read the copy it would have been more

I was assuming their was a Rob Liefeld doesn’t draw feet reference/joke there, but judging by the responses, if there was I was the only one that saw it that way.

I love Mindy Kaling, but not enough to watch a Scooby Doo related project. But everything I’m hearing, even on “woke” sites is that it is just bad, unfunny, and a little mean. That’s fine, Mindy has hit a lot of home runs, she was due for a strikeout.

I think a better analogy would be if someone told you the car’s brakes were good before you got into it.
