Disagree. I’ve financed both my cars at 72 months not because I couldn’t pay it off in 48 if necessary, but because that was the lowest rate and the lowest monthly which freed up some cash for more interesting/relevant things in my life. Like buying a house and starting a family.

Same here. Took a 60mo used car loan at 1.6% apr to keep a low minimum payment in case of emergencies at a relatively cheap cost. Could pay it off tomorrow if needed, but its almost free money right now. Luckily emergencies have not come up and I’ve been nowhere near the minimum since the purchase. Should be paid off…
