Abiogenesis IS still up for debate. We (meaning evolutionary biologists) STILL know next to nothing about the very earliest origins of life. What ISN'T up for debate is that an intelligent designer is an unfalsifiable and/or unverifiable hypothesis, and science has no use for those.
