I should give it a rewatch, but it really felt to me like one of those movies I couldn't exactly find fault in, but I couldn't pinpoint anything I particularly liked about it, either.
I felt nothing watching Lost in Translation.
I love Kid A, but it is in no way an album I would expect anyone to like.

Arcade Fire is another good example of this — for me at least. Funeral is another really playful album that's kind of all over the place, but works really well. Subsequent albums get a bit more homogenous.
This reminds me of another album that came out in 2000: Doves ‘Lost Souls.’ Both albums are very eclectic and both are followed up by albums that seem considerably less experimental. Sometimes bands ‘find their sound’ and that sound just ends up being a bit dull.

He is definitely very dynamic where Panda Bear tends to be more restrained — at least vocally. I've only listened to the new AC album once, but it feels like that dynamism is missing.
I need to give that one a go. I have to say though, Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper has really grown on me. Crosswords is probably my favorite song of the last few years.
Did anyone else read this article in Murray's voice? I found it impossible not to.
