I really don’t see lidar itself becoming the goto for AVs, it may work if there are only a couple of them on the road at the same time but what happens if there were 30 at a light? there’s no way to guarantee that they won’t mistake the emission of another lidar AV as their own without data sharing which I think is

neutral: they need to get in bed with Tesla, the fact is that it’s no longer a single-feature race, electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles are going to be a hand in hand affair and the only company that has the market on both in any meaningful way is Tesla.

thats...honestly the best insurance fraud technique I’ve ever heard. especially if you’re under-water on the car and have gap insurance. I mean depending on how long ago it was buried and how long the new owner has had the property the statute of limitations has got to be up right? I mean what investigator is going to

the suction cup whiteboard was $2 at wal-mart and they used it for years, you try wrangling a 2-yr old, a 4-yr old, a 6-yr old, and an 8-yr old in a department store when you just need to pick up a gallon of milk. it turns a 5 minute stop into a 45 minute hassle.

how could you link to Tricerataco and not use this image?:

or maybe this is just a proof of concept and the final design will most likely be designed to support a large variety of vehicles?

according to some snapshots outside the Fremont factory they already have 316 model 3s produced as of the 17th.

an easy way to avoid this is to print out a note (or as my parents liked to do, keeep a small whiteboard with a suction cup) and place it on the inside of the windshield. something akin to:

A/C is on
Engine is on
I should be back by XX:XX AM/PM
call xxx-xxxx-xxx if there is a problem.

honestly when I had a convertible with no back wipers I didn’t have any issue, I applied Rain-X to all the windows so the wind running across the back window would just pull off any water that collected. Didn’t really need a wiper even in a downpour...

A white Kia Soul, toaster or Stormtrooper helmet?

Tesla might have an edge on this side of things, since they’re a tech company first and a car company second they seem to have a better grasp of software security than the other auto manufacturers...

actually they are reacting in real time (at least human real time) the cross-referencing it is doing is going to take just a few ticks of the processor (if it’s a 2.4 Ghz processor that’s 1 billionth of a second) it sees an object, looks at map and confirms whether object is supposed to be there and what it is, and

actually if we were going by population density it would be around the same per capita.

just a heads up the link you have up there for the mercedes is linking to the samurai’s craigslist page.

thanks for this, I’m going to save that gif at the top for next time I have to explain herd immunity!

This is the thing that a lot of the pro bolt commenters seem to miss, Tesla outsold both the nissan leaf and the Bolt combined in a market bracket far higher than they reside. with Tesla dropping the price to their bracket there’s no way they can compete unless they can bring out some stronger features than the model

this right here, I’ve applied it to every car I’ve owned religiously because I don’t need the wipers unless it’s a torrential downpour!

1st update: Society has collapsed in Indiana, I’m huddled inside a comcast data center as everything else has shut down. I never knew corn was combustible...

As a hoosier I’ll keep you all up to date on how this one tweet is apparently “The Last Straw” that is ruining capitalism in America according to all the conservatives I see today.

I never got the appeal of these things, in summer they block airflow that could be blowing into your sweaty pits and in winter they block the heat reaching your chilly pits and add undue heat to the phone itself. instead I just use a cigarette lighter mount which has a built in 2.4 USB for charging (I think it’s
