Yeah, thankfully nobody died, and I think the kid learned his lesson. And someone at the junkyard got a really good deal on a 289 hi-pro (Although this was like 1992)

My mom had a 66 Mustang when I was younger, when my brother came along Mom wanted something that was easier to get a carseat in and out of so the Mustang got sold. People who bought it let their 16 year old drive it, he proceeded to wrap it around a tree (like hit so hard the passenger door was touching the center…
Way they get around it in Oregon is at most stations diesel is self serve. You can’t pump your own gas, but the law doesn’t apply to diesel so to avoid mis-fills, most stations now have separate diesel pumps and they’re self serve.
Fun tidbit, on your TDI the glow plugs are also a piezoelectric pressure sensor (Why they are like $90 each instead of $20) which the ECU uses to fine tune combustion :-P
My Outback has the “Cold Weather” package, which is heated seats, heated side mirrors, and the heated windshield. On the 95-99 you can’t really tell if it’s got the heated windshield as it’s under the frit (black paint around the edge of the glass) but on the 2000+ Outbacks that had it, they were quite visible at the…
if this were David Tracy’s, it would be a Jeep, and it would be some body part that the rust couldn’t hold on any longer. Drivetrain stuff he would be smart enough to park it.
I subscribed, I dig your videos from the San Rafel Swell, that’s on my bucket list.
I think this is it, I have a Prius and I can be doing 85 in the fast lane and still have some asshat tailgating me, or I can be doing 55 in the slow lane with 3 log trucks in front of me, and still have some asshat tailgating me....
About 15 years ago a friend of mine bought a lifted Jeep Wagoneer (1969, old school full size) that was lifted I think 8 inches, but the guy selling it only wanted $350 for it without the 44 inch tires that were on it, so he threw on a set of stock size tires (That were old school bias ply snow tires that were…
Come out to the PNW where they are a dime a dozen and buy a 2004 or so Outback with a manual transmission. Do the head gaskets if they have not already been done, and have it undercoated. Wash the undercarriage weekly and get it re-undercoated every year or so and you will be golden on rust! And it will haul parts,…
Only time PBR is acceptable is if you’re golfing or something and glass isn’t allowed, cuz I swear beer in cans all tastes the same, might as well go with the cheap shit! Or if you’re drinking for effect, after a while you don’t care what it tastes like. Plenty of times I’ve had a couple of pints of Dead Guy Ale and…
Not only that, but “palette” is what an artist puts paint on, “pallet” is the wooden thing that things are shipped on (and hipsters use to make furniture)
I had an 83 GL-10 sedan, had all the goodies but was a 5 speed. Was a fun car, although it would have been much more fun with an EJ swap!
They also have one of the SVX pace cars, they’ve dragged it out to a few of the east coast SVX club meets.
Best thing to do with the V8/6/4 was to unplug the wire under the hood that caused it to stay in V8 mode :-P
I had an 87 Caddy, I think it was a Sedan deVille, FWD 4 door with the 4.1 liter V8 (I was hoping it was the 4.9 so I could swap it into the back of a Civic hatch), it was a TURD and my daily driver at the time was an 83 Subaru with 73 hp... Got it for free as payment for hauling off a turbo diesel Peugeot :-P
That engine came out in 1984, was used in tractors and industrial equipment prior to being used in Chrysler products.
lol whatever it is, is awesome!
I think automuggles just think that the “V” is some sort of shorthand for some jargon word that means “number of cylinders” and it doesn’t occur to them that a V6 is called a V6 because the cylinders are in a V shape...
Yep, that’s the exact panel, although if memory serves me the ones they installed said “Country Coach” at the bottom instead of CAT, although they did use Cat and Cummins engines.
