Agreed, but only really boring movies that no one actually enjoys (but you can tell your friends you did) can be nominated for best picture.

In a more interesting world (or at least Academy Awards world) genre fare that is actually amazing and far more excite than “Oscar worthy,” films like Blade Runer 2049 and Get Out would be the obvious choices. But, I guess I can accept the lesser of Guillermo Del Toro’s monster films getting a consolation best picture…
