I’m a BIG fan of Riley Keough. And It Follows is one of the better movies made in the last several years.

Not really sure that his production has plummeted all that drastically since 2015...

Agreed. Infinite Jest is not nearly on the same level as Gravity’s Rainbow. To suggest otherwise is foolish.

I love Mason & Dixon, and would not argue with someone who suggests it is better than Gravity’s Rainbow. I, however, would never make that argument.

Mason & Dixon?

Infinite Jest is tremendously overrated. Several of the other books mentioned here that populate the same speculative, postmodern genre (Gravity’s Rainbow, Underworld, 2666 etc.) are infinitely better works.

Nope. Human beings are a cancer on this earth.

Given the current state of global affairs - HUMAN EXTINCTION

I think all of these sports talking heads that talk about sports as if it is something really important and relevant to the world are idiots.

Pavement - Brighten the Corners

Definitely check out Sirens. Space is Only Noise is also a solid listen.

People watch this shit. Unreal.

I’m sorry! It had me invested throughout, and I liked how it told its story. And it was beautiful. Also am a huge fan of the original. My girlfriend hated it though, and she’s smarter than I am. To each his own!

Blade Runner 2049 should win everything.

I will contribute to this sentiment in saying that I, too, find the show Atlanta to be mostly tremendous.

The new Nico Jaar release (under the name Against All Logic) has been a mainstay on my listening rotation this week. So good. Guy is on quite the winning streak over the past several years.

I loved Arrival, but I thought this was better. I understand your criticisms, though. This movie just weirdly resonated with me.

I am so happy that this movie was made. It was so weird and wonderful, and totally unlike anything else being made right now in this genre or otherwise. The closest movie I can compare it to was Tarkovsky’s Solaris.

I actually turned around to this a lot more after seeing it a second time, and I think I prefer this interpretation. The lyrical content of the Crosby, Stills, Nash song also plays into it (also, what a superb fucking needle drop). I also think that Area X stripped those parts of Lena away that were in effect tearing

Nailed it! That Playboy spread was decent.
