Season 3 might have fewer funny episodes than seasons 1 or 2, but I think Mr. F might be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Ever. The exploding jet pack video and then with the moles… I was on the floor for minutes. I even kind of like the end of that season, though it's not tremendously funny. Always enjoy…
Yeah the mst3k episode is tough to watch more than once, but the rifftrax was actually really good. The movie is pretty awful but if you can see a decent looking print of it, it has enough interesting visuals to make it not completely horrible.
Whatever you mean by that, I'll take it as a compliment. Thanks!
**Spoilers for the stage show**
Maybe he could have done it. I once went to a symphony concert where the principal cello was filling in for a soloist playing the Dvorak concerto and he or she had to use music, so that's why I say it's unlikely, though not impossible especially if the concertmaster had recently performed it with a different ensemble.
True, youtube and spotify are only examples. Plenty of free ways to explore classical music.
Yeah, as with the 1812 rehearsal, I would have totally gone with it if he had requested someone bring him the sheet music.
Cool. Give it another chance sometime, even just to have it on in the background while reading. Often stuff grows on you if you hear it more than once.
Oh yeah, now I remember the other funny thing about this episode besides that they were in Yonkers. Rodrigo recalls being intimate with Ana Maria with the Sibelius concerto playing in the backround. While the 2nd movement of that concerto is sublimely beautiful and is totally appropriate for an intimate moment, the…
Yeah, I guess…
Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous. Putting aside the soloist walking off the stage and the concertmaster being ready to play what is often considered the hardest violin concerto ever written on the spot with no music (not completely implausible as it's likely a concertmaster of a major orchestra has performed the…
Nothing really to say except that instead of Philadelphia, they went to Yonkers, NY. Wonder why they couldn't have just said Ana Maria was in Yonkers?
I haven't seen that one, though I understand it's pretty dark, lol.
Or Threepenny Opera (a product of the Weimar Republic)? Although it's mostly a comedy, it has a pretty bleak depiction of humanity.
Sweeney Todd? (Though obviously the violence is fairly cartoonish and often played for laughs)
Hey, we agree!
Here's a 7 year old flautist.
Liked the episode, actually. But obligatory nitpick, there's no way that guy wouldn't know it was Mozart. It's the name of the show, dummy!
"Oh, so you need to be classically trained to be able to play instruments and play classical music, is that it?"
