I'll tell you a story. I'm an advanced care paramedic. The call was for a 2-car MVA on a rural road.

Not all disabilities are visible. My dad used to have severe pain from his right knee walking. But you couldn't tell by watching him because he sucked it up and walked straight like a man. Just be thankful you can walk and let the people who have tags use the spots.

My ex had titanium pins in her foot and got a permanent handicapped placard. It would actually hurt her to walk the extra 100ft. She was in pain by the time she made it to the handicap power-assisted carts and people always look at her as if she just took one to ride around in because her pain isn't visible.

I hope she calls the police or a tow truck or something when that happens.

First of all thank you Jason for taking the time to explain the purpose of those lines. While most Jalops realize that they are there so that folks in wheelchairs can have extra space especially if they need to deploy a ramp, it seems far too many people just think they are an "extra space."
