Is it not fair if white students have to perform better to gain admittance than black and latino students? White students have sued schools as well for discrimination.

A lot of the Ivy League schools. While Asians do indeed make up a disproportionate share of students at elite universities, that share is actually far lower than it should be based on applicant quality.
I do find it funny though how in American liberal minds, diversity is limited only to blacks and Latinos. I’ve been told, flat out, that my kid attending a majority Asian school means she’s not in a “diverse” environment. Because, y’know, Asians aren’t minorities.
I’m selfish. Going to just be honest. I don’t care if school is anything other than decent, and also don’t want my kid to deal with the shit my wife and I dealt with as kids in our schools (if we can help it.)

Education seems too important to me to use to make a point. If I had children, I would send them to the best school I could. At the same time, I’d support policies that would lead the greater equality and truer integration in all of the schools, but I wouldn’t handicap my kid with a subpar education while no one else…
I know a lot of liberals and progressives who beat the drum for equality and fight the good tattooed fight for freedom...until they have kids. Then it is a frantic search for a place to live outside the limit of St. Louis City schools...but still hopefully close enough to the city to still seem “cool.” Fucking…
