The thing is, the original tweet doesn’t suggest that the show is fundamentally sexist or irredeemably PrObLeMaTiC, and it doesn’t call for a boycott or anything remotely like that. They literally just said “hey, come on, don’t use that outdated language, we know you’re better than that.” It’s the gentlest possible

Absolutely, that was my first thought. Such a mocking, nasty tone when the request to retire sexist gender terms to designate firefighters is eminently reasonable. WTF, Jezebel?

Yeah, what’s with the snark? It’s a minor thing, but surely we all understand that “minor things” are how patriarchy persists. Kind of shitty to make fun of a good-natured call-out like that one.

Not sure I get the mocking tone here. It seems like a reasonable tweet!

I’m more of a “it’s obviously a great gesture, but what does it say about the state of the world that we have to rely on the kindness of the absurdly rich to take care of the poor” kind of person.

I mean this is great and all of her to do. But it is utterly horrifying that these people have to rely on the random generosity of a celebrity in order to survive.

Hey Lauren, I just want to chime in along with everyone else and let you know this is a really shitty post. Like, colossally shitty. I don’t even have any snark for you. Clinton won the popular vote, she was profoundly qualified, and she got shat on for being a woman who knows how to get shit done in a world dominated

This is the worst post I have ever seen on Jezebel. And I have read some self important posts that were 90% text exchanges between staff at their dullest and most unimaginative.

Yikes. This is kind of heartbreaking. Woman wins popular vote, helping pave the way for a number of exciting female leaders, and gets shat on for existing by feminist blog. What would you like her to do, disappear completely? Sounds that way.

I was inspired by her campaign as were many she won the goddamn popular vote. She shouldn't run again because it will just be a repeat and she has sense. No need to shit on her work.

Are we sure some of them weren’t saying Boo-urns?

Can’t wait for this action-ed packed series. See emily not leave her house, start wearing white dresses, become reluctant to greet guests and to talk to visitors from the other side of a door rather than speaking to them face to face., you’ll be on the edge of your seat as she writes poems in her bedroom.

It’s infuriatingly telling that he regards American citizens lobbying their elected representatives to enact laws on behalf of their constituency as “looking to someone else solve their problem.” That’s literally the entire point of having elected representatives.

This is similar to my reaction when conservative pundits shamed MSD survivors who were questioning Rubio at that town hall and said they were being disrespectful. They were literally engaging in the democratic process by holding their elected official accountable to the people he is supposed to represent.

May the Schwartz be wit cha!

It’s been a long time since I was in school, but I have a degree in political science, and I’m pretty sure “asking someone to pass a law” is how our legislature is actually supposed to work. Maybe Rick is too stupid to remember his time in the legislature, but individual citizens cannot actually draft, advance, and

I could only read Claire Foy’s quotes in her Queen voice.

Admitting limitations to research is part of rigorous and transparent methodology, dumbass.

I’m confused by the fact that someone with the username HealingCrystals is claiming to get behind the scientific method.
