Northern Californian here, living in the Midwest the past 10 years. Some of us do put it there. But you’re right that it’s more widespread in SoCal. But also skit is also clearly doing a specific impression of the SoCal accent, which is what most of the country means when they say “Californian,” so tomato toh-mah-toh.

Needs more stars.

Neither can Kate McKinnon, Fred Armisen, or Kristen Wiig. Kenan and Bill Hader are the only ones who sound like exaggerated Californians, though Hader slips up by not putting “the” in front of the freeway names.

Lol, he’s on io9 because of me. It happened the same way it did for you. Right when the Omar stuff started, he said some “Jews did 9/11” shit here on Splinter and I called it out, so he backstalked my post history and started ranting at me over at io9 because he thought one of my posts outed me as a Southerner (I am

HA! The degree to which I can relate to this is pretty astonishing, but I probably have to stay vague, having already divulged more information than is wise when I suppose I’m technically being cyber-stalked.

Oh yeah, I knew how to find post history, I just thought from your talk about dismissing comments that that might mean you’ve got some power there. I still don’t really understand how the grey/ungrey/dismissing thing works.

In one of the threads where he’s ranting at me, he keeps accusing me of personally obstructing some Important Work that he somehow thinks his Kinja comments are achieving. What exactly he thinks these comments do, and how exactly he thinks I have it in my power to stop him are both issues of vague curiosity to me, but

Oh, good—I mean, not “good,” really, but it’s comforting to see it’s not just me. This guy posted something about those jeering Mossad agents in a Splinter article a few months ago, and I fired off a brief reply saying “that’s bullshit,” and he demanded that I explain the “agents” then, and I said I didn’t feel like

Does this mean you have some kind of moderator control? Because I’d just like to point out that this guy said some “the Jews did 9/11" bullshit on Splinter a few months ago, and I fired off a brief “that’s bullshit” comment. He then backstalked my post history and chased me over to some weeks-old io9 article about Scar

My point is where is that specifically in the movie or even the Bible per se?

Hmm, I’m imagining it like a thousand times worse than the (awesome) creepiness of the photos in this article. But hard to know without someone making it happen...

Dear god, why would you let that idea out into the world?

Neither of our communities have any room for tolerance or pride for these people.

Okay, so I know the title said “incredibly racist,” but...holy shit. I was not ready for that.

Oh, right. I did forget about that. But it seems pretty thin to say him hosting in Fall of 2015 helped get him elected. A lot of media juggernauts gave him a lot of unwarranted attention (and thus free advertising) relentlessly in the year between then and the election.

I’m on board that lots of supposedly liberal media have a lot to answer for in terms of getting Trump elected, but how did SNL play any meaningful role in that? Didn’t he only do like two sketches before 11/8/2016, based on the debates, which they do in every campaign season?

In Far Cry 5, Seed made vague proclamations about politicians and the horrors of moderns news as portents of an end that actually did come. What made Seed falter as a compelling villain was the game’s inability to make his prophecies bold enough to name the forces of injustice sending the world towards annihilation

You may ask, yes.

Seems to be driving you up a wall, though.
