There HAS to be some level of drinking or drugs involved in this, right? Just lie to me if not; I can’t accept this is the outcome of sober thinking

Canadians are quite horrendous at them as well.
My thoughts exactly. I can’t believe people drive like that unironically. I can’t even laugh, this is beyond stupid. It’s a fucking roundabout, don’t know what’s so hard about it.
They installed several roundabouts around the downtown square in my town about 5 years ago. I drive through them every day, and I regularly still see people entering/exiting the wrong way, driving through them without yielding properly, and my personal favorite: coming to a full stop at every. single. yield line. And…
I’ve never understood how some people’s brains just completely melt when they stumble upon a traffic circle. They’re really not very hard! And when people follow them correctly they’re far preferable to a set of lights.
I wonder how many roll overs it would take to change public perception that ‘big car = safer’ that has helped drive the CUV craze and raised the tall belt line every car has.
First day of spring on the LA freeways?
malicious prank? you mean attempted homicide
2) My wife’s friend really got screwed. She had a BMW 3 series and knew nothing about cars, so she went to a local shop. He found a few items, she started servicing her car there, among other things. Now they’re married and have two kids!
The U.S. should switch to the metric system. It is a superior system and, because it’s based on the number 10, it’s easy to teach children, and people in Florida.
Do you have a source for that? I do oil formulation for a living and we definitely don’t use “used” VMs and VIs. Honestly that stuff gets chopped up in your engine, it’s a major reason you’re supposed to change your oil. Oil 100% goes bad. The base reserve runs out and you run into acidification issues. You lose…
Am I reading this right? People are paying over $400 a month for five and a half years, on a USED car?
Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the car is angled into traffic and the wheel is turned waiting for the opportunity to make the left turn?
That shit drives me nuts. I used to dirt bike back in the woods, about a mile and half from my house. I’d ride through my neighborhood, pop onto the main street (in a moderately sized town) until I hit the train tracks, then I’d take them back to the trails. In the neighborhood I was just putting around while going…
That’s RIGHT!. After all it’s the filthy rich that pay no taxes that are the ones entitled to break the law.
So as an engineer I think this highlights a problem with designing for consumers in general. Those internal specs/design targets often don’t (and really can’t) be published in a way that’s understandable or meaningful to the average consumer. You design something for x, customer immediately uses it for x^2 and claims…
It may be part of media training.
I will say that my boss (and friend) at Chrysler—the best engineering manager I’ve ever known, and undoubtedly one of the best in the industry (Khan, it’s worth mentioning, seems to have a great reputation among his peers as well)—also responded to criticism of the JL Wrangler by…
1. Lube Chassis (Who does this?)
Back in the very early 90's I got pulled over for 78 in a 55 on a clear sunny day with light traffic. Trooper actually asked me, “Where’s the fire.” Acted like I was a menace to society. Went to court, charges got reduced to 69 in a 55 (14 over is a far less serious charge in my state than anything 15 over.) On top of…
If you took away the speed limit on a road, and measured how fast people travel, the speed limit should be set to about the 85th percentile. It’s not a new concept, the problem is a lot of the speed limits on our roads were set decades ago when cars had worse stopping distances, stability, etc. The limits in a lot of…
