Look, I just don't think Tommy is the ANYTHING "of the season." He was a tertiary character in a tertiary storyline. Kevin is clearly the central prodigal son, both within this finale episode and the season as a whole because in fact he couldn't be the prodigal son in just this episode without having been set up to be

"OF THE SEASON" or did you not get that part? A surface-level allusion isn't the same idea of a season-long generalization of a character in a series where there are MANY variations of father/son relationships and "son" metaphors.

re: "Tommy is the prodigal son of the season"

Sonia, honestly………………… this type of review—being so ego-centric—does not belong here. If YOU can't reach a point where you can review an episode objectively, looking at all of its storytelling, cinematic and character-developing aspects, then you should probably just have a seat and pass the torch. Whether it's

Lady Stoneheart 100% does not belong in season 4 and the best part of this excellent finale is the fact that the writers have the balls to keep her in season 5 where the themes of death, resurrection and magic will play a much bigger role from episode to episode. Next season we get to see Brienne and The Brotherhood

The most compelling part of Game of Thrones (the series) is the dialogue it has with the books. I keep telling everyone I know that watches the show, but does not read the books that the show is endlessly more fascinating when you get to see the tricks and underscores that the show's writers provide for people who

I think the safe assumption to make is that this reviewer took a hugely different approach to the books than the majority of readers did. To not get a sense of the Jon/Ygritte and Sam/Gilly storylines as framed in the books is shocking—they're massive threads and the relationships are developed well both in the books

I ENTIRELY expected Stannis to arrive in this episode and my only disappointment in the episode is that he didn't. Aside from that, I mostly disagree with this review. I thought the episode was wonderful and miles better than Blackwater was.

This shouldn't be the last "you know nothing, Jon Snow" because Melisandre says it to him eventually…

I don't think Lady Stoneheart is in the finale at all. The episode is called "The Children," the most literal allusion being to Bran reaching the tree and the Children of the Forest and Tyrion killing his father. We'll also probably see both Arya and Tyrion head across the sea. Lady Stoneheart feels like a season 5

Well, the notion that Looking has an episode better than literally any episode of Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, Mad Men or The Killing is just……………………………..
