ARK is an acceptable foundation for a game like this. They are familiar with it and can use the time saved to work on other things like bug fixing and expanding the gameplay instead of developing from the scratch what they already have.

The first D:OS already “spoiled” me too much for Pillars and all the other oldschool crpgs. The combat system, the UI, the player freedom as well as the depth of interaction within the game world.
